We started Everstead Finds because too many of the things we bought online were cheap twice: once at checkout, and again when they broke and needed replacing.
Why we exist
Amazon carries nearly everything, which is both its strength and its problem. Search for a kitchen knife, a backpack or a desk lamp and you'll get hundreds of near-identical listings with near-identical star ratings. Telling the one that lasts from the one that fails after a season takes time most people don't have.
Everstead Finds does that groundwork. We look for products that are built properly, hold up in long-term use and are priced fairly for what they deliver, and we put them on clearly labelled shelves so you can find them quickly.
The Everstead standard
Every product on our shelves has to give good answers to four questions: what it's made of, how it ages, whether it can be cared for or repaired, and whether the price is fair for what you get. We read specifications and materials, compare close alternatives and spend most of our time in reviews written after months of ownership, where recurring problems show up.
Our recommendations are based on that research, published specifications and verified customer experiences. Unless we explicitly say so on a product page, we have not personally tested the item, and we never claim to.
Independent
No brand pays to appear here. What goes on the shelves is our decision alone.
Honest
We point out weaknesses as readily as strengths, and we disclose every affiliate link.
Long-view
We favour the product you'll still be using in five years over this month's trend.
